We have been invited to Blog for Microsoft
10th February 2012
The F1 Group in North Hykeham, Lincoln have a large number of well qualified support staff. One of our senior Microsoft Technicians, Andrew Bel-Dean has been asked by Microsoft to provide a regular Blog on their website. We have a long and close history with Microsoft having discovered some of the bugs in beta releases of their software when we have been part of their business testing plan.
This is not the first time that Andrew has been asked to provide technical talks or Blogs for organisations, he was asked last year to be a guest speaker on IT at York University.
The Microsoft Blog this year is going to cover Server Virtualisation, which we have long history with, being the first company in the UK to be officially qualified by Microsoft in this technology. He is also providing a Blog about Cloud computing. He is the second person providing a regular Cloud Computing blog. Chris Pickles also writes a regular group blog on www.linkedin.com just search for the discussion group “make the cloud your business”
Andrew’s Blog will start on the 15th February, you will find it here http://borntolearn.mslearn.net/
With each new news story we would also like to introduce you to one of our staff members.
Lyall Oldfield

Lyall is our senior development guy. Although in his case being senior is still in development. He is the epitome of a geek although he thinks that he is probably quite normal. The great thing about Lyall and all of our development and support staff is they hate not to know something and just have to work it out. Lyall has always had an inquisitive mind and an early interest in IT, being originally self-taught from library books and being banned for hacking into the school computer system.
If he had been born in the sixties he would have been a hippie, growing his own vegetables having a view on everything, walking his dog and generally being anarchist without realising it. However these are just his good points, he will get your project finished on time in budget and using technology that no one else can or has any idea about. I know this as he constantly surprises us with resolutions to problems we all thought were impossible.
